Overview

8th standard is a period of transition from higher primary school to high school making it the most vital. Keeping in mind, the fast-paced education system, The Central Board of Secondary Education or CBSE has released a revised syllabus for 2019-2020. There is a mix of disciplines like languages, science, arts, commerce, and physical education making the syllabus a comprehensive one. There are 2 categories of subjects, namely, compulsory and optional. As per the revised CBSE class 8 curriculum, students can take-up three language subjects in which Hindi and English are compulsory and any 1 third language which is optional depending upon the student`s willingness and choice. The third language subject (additional subject) could be one of the languages as specified by CBSE.
